Achieving excellence in vascular surgery

2025 Outcomes

Our vascular care program is nationally recognized for its leadership in innovation and quality, providing comprehensive care for patients with vascular diseases. The services offered encompass various treatment options, including peripheral vascular care, complex arterial reconstruction and aortic dissection management.

Accomplishments

  • Plano and Dallas attained Verified Comprehensive Inpatient Vascular Centers status by the Vascular Verification Program, a Quality Program from the American College of Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery. This verification recognizes exceptional care and outcomes. Plano was the first in North Texas and one of four in the U.S. to achieve this status last year.
  • Dallas and Plano are among six centers nationwide to hold a VQI 3-star rating for over eight consecutive years. They were honored with the Dr. Larry Krais Quality Award at the 2025 SVS conference for this achievement.
  • Plano has consistently been a high-volume quaternary facility caring for patients with complex aortic aneurysms and aortic dissections.

DALLAS AND PLANO ARE TWO OF SEVEN PROGRAMS NATIONWIDE TO ACHIEVE THIS STATUS.

In addition, our vascular team participates in several clinical trials and has authored many publications presented at national conferences.

Innovations

We combine novel technologies and national research trial participation to serve patients with the most complex cases of vascular disease.

  • In collaboration with heart failure specialists, Dallas and Plano are at the forefront of Barostim™ Baroreflex Activation Therapy, which utilizes a neuromodulation device to improve systolic heart failure symptoms.
  • Our Dallas location was the first in the US to use flexible 4F magnetic catheters that deliver radiofrequency energy to create arteriovenous fistulas for complex dialysis access.
  • Treatment options were expanded for patients with complex aortic pathology by introducing the Thoracoabdominal Endo-Branch Device (TAMBE) in Dallas and Plano.
